Thursday, February 4th. CA, USA: California-based production company Professional Hood Entertainment has officially released its latest comedy short entitled Short Pussie Control 2: Night At The Drive-In, with the nine-minute film now available to stream for free.
Ryan, Tianna, and Davion Return For More Crazy Cat Antics Following the success of Pussie Control (2020), actor Taylor Byron Barr returns as playboy Ryan for a second shot at dating Tianna (played by Rajane Devlugt). After struggling to woo his date at her home in the initial installment, the stud takes his date to the drive-in theater for a seemingly surefire seduction. Unfortunately for the love hopeful, the mischievous cat Davion Pussie (Myron L. Mayberry) is back to scupper Ryan’s plans once more.
The puppet feline brings hilarity and surrealism to an all-too-familiar dating scenario in a humorous, charming, and engrossing sequel in which the on-screen chemistry of Barr. Devlugt and Mayberry is clear. All three two-character partnerships carry a unique dynamic that perfectly mirrors that three-way relationship between two lovers and a pet, albeit in an exaggerated comedy manner.
Writer, director, and producer Bryan Bostic finds an engaging way to tell that story through clever cuts and a style that treads the line between realism and clear fantasy to create a believable arc that builds upon everything that had audiences laughing from its prequel to deliver a short that’s certain to be a hit with those viewers, as well as those who join the story at this second installment.
Through a combination of exaggerated scenarios that are underpinned by realistic situations that people find themselves in during the early phases of dating, the use of visual comedy and vocalization of internal battles that many people will have had with their partner’s pet takes the humor up a notch in this edition of their comedic story.
If anything, the timing of both subtle lines and more obvious humor, including a cameo from Kayla Mitchell as LaShaun, ensure that the drive-in movie theater is home to even more laughter than Tianna’s home. As the story unfolds, the claws are truly out as the battle for Tianna’s affections becomes fiercer than ever. Davion certainly won the first encounter, but who will win the war?
